So now that warmer weather is coming, I get cravings for a certain drink at Starbucks – their Passion Tea Lemonade! Geez I will drain that stuff in 2 minutes… maybe because I usually get a tall instead of a venti or something. It’s just so tart and refreshing! The only downside is that Dong complains incessantly that it’s totally not worth the money and that they put too much ice in it (which they do… it’s practically half full of ice…). So finally, to quit his yapping, we found out that they have recipes online which mimic the starbucks one pretty darned well! Now we make pitcherfuls of the lovely pink stuff and I never have to spend 4 bucks on a tall PTL!
Passion Tea Lemonade (makes 2-3 qts)
3 Tazo Passion Tea Bags
3 cups boiling water
12 oz can frozen lemonade concentrate
And that’s all you need! It’s so simple. Actually you also need a big pitcher, I ended up buying a 3.3 qt pitcher just for this purpose.
1. Remove strings and tags from tea bags and place in pitcher. Pour in boiling water and allow tea to steep for 10-15 minutes.
2. Add lemonade concentrate (so super sticky… make sure you don’t spill it!) and mix, then top off with cold water.
3. Serve chilled and enjoy!
It’s such a striking pink color and it looks gorgeous in clear glasses with some ice. Make sure you stir it up before serving so the lemonade concentrate is equally distributed!
This week we went back to NYC to finalize our wedding venue and our wedding date (whee!). Some drama over the date… but it’s hard to find a day that will satisfy everyone, sigh.
5/1 – on the road back to NYC, driving through NJ
5/2 – fortune cookies talking to each other!
5/3 – back home, with a time issue about the royal wedding!
5/5 – those are some crazy crazy hats.
5/6 – keeping up with time magazine
5/7 – dinner at Red Robin since the wait at Bonefish Grill was too long! No regrets!
Day off today and it feels so GOOD….!! It’s a little depressing because I’ve only started working in earnest recently, but I am already looking forward to when I can start doing part-time instead of full. Just can’t beat being at home and chillaxing. As Bruno Mars says, “Today I don’t feel like doing anything….”
4/24 – yummy linguine alfredo with fried shrimp! prepared by me!
4/27 – walking around the Green Lake in Syracuse
4/28 – dinner at Cheeburger Cheeburger, Dong’s first time!
4/29 – oh so ripe and yummy pineapple! Annoying to cut up but totally worth it, especially after the slices are refrigerated. So yummy and refreshing!
4/30 – stir fry for dinner, mmm mmm good!
What a gorgeous day for Mother’s Day! Sunny and warm even in the Cuse, with temperatures up to 70. And to take advantage of the glorious weather, I’ll be in here writing a blog entry and playing Sims Medieval =D
|currently taking up too much of my free time….
Anyway, I want to wish all the moms and mom-like single dads a happy day! I’ve definitely grown to appreciate my mom a lot more over the years, although our relationship is still not an easy one. We’re not mortal enemies, although sometimes it gets close. Definitely I have mellowed… I suppose time and distance will do that, and now I realize that even though she was sometimes overbearing, overprotective, and over-everything… it was all for my greater good, at least in her mind. Still, I don’t think I’ll be exactly following her mode of parenting with my own kids… at least I hope not!
I still have hope that someday we’ll have a better relationship, maybe when I have kids of my own and she has grandchildren to dote on! Who knows, perhaps one day we will achieve that Gilmore Girls level camaraderie…
|the ideal mom-daughter relationship …. what i aspire to!
Went to check out wedding venues on Monday… what a freaking tiring day! The rest of the week went by in a blur of work and work… and hitting deer. Ugh.

Another week of work and wedding stuff. This week we were gearing up to check out wedding venues in Long Island, which meant some legwork online, making appointments and making sure we had the day off. Our ambitious plan was to hit up 6 places on Monday (4/18)!
4/10 – yummy crab dip at Tully’s. You really can’t go wrong with crab dip!
4/11 – a collection of useful wedding catalogs, provided by the lovely Viv!
